A little info on the Mclaren blocks or at least the 2 I have. I had mine pressure tested and they tested fine. My plan was about a 4.00 stroke with the 4.08 bore but no can do. My blocks are cut on the main cap and web for LS1 main bearings. That gives a full 360 degree thrust which I guess they wanted for a stick car. The LS1 thrust bearing is thinner than the Gen3 so no crank is available short of a billet unit. I have the 2 Bryant cranks and Carello rods to go in the blocks but they are 2.93 stroke for 305". Have also been told these blocks are not really stout enough for boost so that is out. Might be a good street rod engine but not much for the Strip. Lucky I don't have much $$$ in them. Anyone want a cool street rod engine start, cheap?
