I just got my new project car home. It is a 66 B body and I will be installing a fairly mellow 440 over the winter if all goes well. The plan is budget street and strip car that can be driven regularly but kinda ratty etc. Got the second part covered for sure!

Typical low-compression 440 with a 750, SD intake, headers, street strip cam similar to a .484.

Rear gears will be 3.23:1. I need those gears because of distance. Tranny will be strongly built with a large cooler.

A buddy has offered me a Dynamic convertor that is 10" in diameter. The guy says it stalled 3500-3800 behind a really strong (much more than mine) 440.

Is this going to be a situation that will cause regrets with slippage? I am hoping not. I know convertor tech has come a long ways since the prevalence of GER and BOSS HOGG convertors when I was a kid.

Thoughts or experiences?

Thank you for your time.
