This is a taste question, so it has to work for you. I've grabbed a lot of pictures of 40s over the years, and I prefer darker colors myself. There have been a few lighter ones I've liked, but none that were real bright. I don't like the Black fender look, it seems to cut up the car and look cheap to me.
