From what I've seen, I don't think there's that much price difference b/t the two right now. Especially since you're building the conversion motor w/ a cheap 440 block...since any new aftermarket hemi block is going for 5k to almost 9k right now.
The biggest downside is resale...no one is gonna pony up decent money for a "conversion motor".
