I bonded on some aluminum 2.0 x2.0 inch wide and tall T shape on the bottom of my fibreglas race lift off hood on my old pump gas Duster and use bolts to bolt them to the stock Duster hood hinges so I could use a sawed off broom stick to hold the hood opened
That worked well
