I didn't want to trust the little 2" wide tabs welded to my aluminum cell upon the G-Forces from launching, impact from wheel stands or in case of a crash, etc so I made an aluminum frame to help enclose the cell all around.
I have seen these tabs leak around the welds over time before. Makes me feel better anyway. Also made aluminum support rails from underneath so it is not just bolted thru the sheet metal trunk pan so it cannot pull thru in case of a crash or roll over. I also have a roll over valve in the upper vent line to avoid spillage if upside down.
