Yea I never go that high --usually 700 max and keep an eye on them at LEAST once a season pull and check

This entire issue would be better if we could get the solid body with Morel quality and or bushed

Drag racers think bigger is better you usually do not need that high of pressure if a good lobe is selected--as engine builders we always ask the cam maker NOT for the latest computer grind--that can be hell on parts but we ask for a smooth proven lobe that is EASY on parts and requires less pressure to work
Crazy hot latest thing lobes usually require very high pressure to TRY and control them and for what?? a few more claimed HP?? we are usually bracket racing anyway so what the heck Crazy to not get lobes that are easy on stuff

829's are not the best-by far-- the solid body is the claim to fame zero oil issues- but....they are pretty darn good when used with a good lobe and reasonable pressures and ...are replaced every season--sell old ones at swap and keep rolling
BTW if you send in to Comp for rebuild they always say several were no good now you have mix of new and rebuilt at price of new set so that is a bust well documented on here and a lame way to go--sell the old ones and move on

OR.....Use Morels, Isky etc with direct oil pressure and maybe bushings THEN still get a smooth lobe and explain you do not want reduced base circle or massive lobe lift that you are fighting that band being exposed--work with pros that knows kinda deal Todd Marsh, Comp, Andy, and others that are just as good--there are many on here and then.....replace every season any darn way to keep a lifter from killing the entire engine

Spring pressure to excess to control crazy lobes ( or just for the heck of it) KILLS lifters --as well as dreaded valve float from un-skilled driver--too many RPM in water--etc etc

In our circle track builds we had drivers that we could run VERY close piston to valve never an issue and we had drivers we had to jack it with LOTS more PTV because they could make it kiss anyway no matter what--in other words they had no idea how to drive a race car and care for equipment
