Get a dual male 0.25" tab connector to a 0.25" female tab connector available everywhere. Connect to 12V input terminal on the ballast resistor, reconnect the original lead to 1 side of the dual tab connector and run a separate wire lead from the other side of the dual tab connector to the choke...
No cutting or splicing, very clean..
