Probably the best factory performance converter is the 2801764 introduced in '68, this is a 10 3/4" converter used on the /6, 318, 340, 383-4 and later 440.

This is often referred to as a 2500 converter but will stall as low as 1700 and as high as 2800 depending on the power input.
