Thanks for the replies guys, I will look into all the above options. As far as what's different now? I don't really know but I've questioned whether the timing and fueling are accurate. It runs fine and starts ok cold and hot though. Down in the muggy south it never could run cool enough to let you run the a/c unless you were moving 40-50 or more and that rarely happens on power tour. I wasn't alive in 1965 so I don't know what kind of drivability they had. This wagon used to be mine and I sold it to dad about 15 years ago and he's the one funding whatever it needs to be reliable. It's always run hot from when it was a freshened stock 2 bbl to now when it has an edelbrock performer package on the top end. It's a stock radiator that's been re-cored with stock fan and stock shroud and it's a factory a/c 383 car so I ASSume all the parts to be original and compatible. Dad's sick of fighting it and he'd spend a grand on it if it would actually fix the problem.
