so back up and regroup roll the dice one more time..

found a new reman 318 never fired in a JY for 100$ no warranty.

VC/intake was off and had a little rust showing a little water had been in there. none in the cyls/ports but filled oil pan just under the crank rod bolts.

replaced oil pan/pump/tube removed the new flat tappet cam/lifters and installed a stock roller cam and lifters after flushing/cleaning everything up. couple cans of dupli-color black and it all back to stock.

on install I correct the engine mounts to get the trans mount bolted up correctly (to far forward) got the mounts set, replaced old for new driveshaft and balance.

fired up and adjusted timing/carb and it runs nice and smooth.

while I had the front clip off I washed prepped primed painted it.

spent a day in the u-pull it collecting all the fender bolts and jesus clips to replace what I had on there. about 10 bolts holding it together.. replaced all for a total of 32 bolts/clips that should fix most of the rattle noise up front.
