Has anyone here compared the 2 setups on the same car?

Application is a BB/727 '72 Duster street/strip car. Approx weight 3400. No doubt most of that weight's on the nose, even with aluminum heads, intake & radiator and 'glass hood.
Seems the "default" spring is always the 002/003 (rated 160#/in for 3000# stick cars per MP), but I'm wondering if the 456/457 setup (125#/in, 3400# auto cars) wouldn't be the better choice.
I'm hip to the torsion-bar adjustment, but also question static ride height and ride.
CalTrac/ladder bar/4-link stuff isn't an option at this point.
