Update: Did decide to pull engine. It was that or the transfer case to get to at least one freeze plug that was bad, and with the other engine work that needed to be done, decided to pull engine. So it's out now (some pics to come). Replacing all the freeze plugs with brass. Some were really bad and leaking. They were steel. Putting in new cam and lifters, pretty close to stock specs, wanting smooth idle but a little more torque at bottom end. Discovered some worn cam bearings, so new cam bearings going in as well. Already had new dbl roller timing chain with tensioner and HD water pump ready to go on too. Good thing. We could almost remove chain without unbolting. Truck has factory oil pressure gauge so I got new sender and switch, and it was definitely leaking from switch, so that'll clear up one oil leak. The rear main seal was hard as a rock. Guessing original. Cleaning up everything now for some Mopar Turquoise and hopefully start reassembly next week. Steering brace to frame will go in while engine out.

Facts are stubborn things.
