I'm going to guess that he's right. Put the car up on jackstands, pull the inspection cover off and check to make sure all of the bolts holding the clutch/pressure plate to the flywheel are still there by rotating the engine over.

Is there anyway to go look for that mystery bolt? Finding it may answer the question of where it came from rather quickly.


Where's the inspection cover? The bellhousing doesn't really have any slots to inspect the pressure plate.

I'd have to go to my gf's house and look around the street to find the bolt.
