Not to thread jack but on the subject of stock Magnum springs I'm about to put a set onto an LA 318; but use a stock 360 cam, (nearly identical to a Comp 252, minus~0.015" lift) the stock (non E 58) 360 has a lift of .410 (with stock LA shaft rocker gear) with Magnum rocker gear (1.6 RR) I come up with about a 0.438" lift on that same cam. This is going into a 3/4 T. pickup with a 727 and 3.55 gearz; I doubt the motor will ever see over 4K RPM; stock Magnum beehive springs good enuf???

My IH came out perfect to stock Magnum spec, (1.64")just a shade over 1-5/8" with reground stock Magnum-head valves, in a set of EQ 318-B's. I "only" have 5 cracked OEM Magnum heads here to cherry pick the best valves out of so I didnt buy new valves for that new set of heads.
Gotta save money somewhere so I can have some left for the Project Car, right?
