I have a 410 W-2 with flat tops and 11.5 compression, 260 @ .050 cam and I need to turn my timing back to 32 to keep it out of detonation. That's with a 8" that stalls to 5000.
We have 94 out of the pump here and are at 3000'.

I know there is a power gain if you can keep the timing at optimal but backing the timing down to run on the street is defeting the purpose of more compression. The cam to me seems a little small for 12:1 compression also.
