I can easily add baffles for oil control and combined with a crank scraper and with the bungs welded in the right postion, I'm guessing it will function just as good as a fancy fabricated pan

also I'll feel better with the strength of steel vs. aluminum under a street car driving over potholes and what not

finally I'll only spend about $100 bucks into the experiment and if it all goes wrong, I'll get a proper dry sump pan
