Im not sure why hotrod is calling it steel? Its a ductile cast iron afik but hey I could be wrong I agree keep away for performance.
They all start out as steel... forged are pounded to get a tighter density and to align the molecules.. the cast is just that.. cast and thats the end of it (other than the machining)
