Likely is.
Lifters should be rattling very loudly too though. Like I said they are will rattle very early when the oil pressure drops. It takes oil pressure to keep them filled.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!
