68 Charger with mostly stock 383. Been trying to get the car running since removing from storage of 5 years. To date: changed oil, removed fuel tank, drained, cleaned and blew out all lines, new fuel filter (second) rebuilt 670 SA, new plugs, timing is correct, spark is present, fuel is present to carb and can be seen squirting out when linkage is moved. I did a compression check and compression is at all cylinders. The car wants to start and will start but only if I crank for about 10 seconds and with accelerator pedal to the floor only then will the car start and run poorly. Max rpm is 800 and running very rich. As soon as I let up on gas pedal car dies immediately. Would weak spark cause this? At the inboard side (blue and brown wire) of ballast resistor there is 10.5 volts. Car ran perfect before going into storage.
