It's possible with stands ahead of the front axles that the door latches may bind and not latch well.

no, i wish. i'll start another thread on this later when i tear into it, but i've had an issue for years now. sounds like a throwout bearing going bad. take it apart, no physical evidence of what is going on. put it back together, problem gone for 6 months, 9 months, a year... this is the 3rd time it's come about. this time i decided i was going to drive it until it breaks.
well... it broke. we'll see, but i'm 99.9% sure whatever broke is in the bell housing. hopefully this weekend i'm going to get the transmission out, and see what is going on.
