WJ used to say that big scoop need 50 HP to push it through the air at 200 MPH. Going to EFI and dropping the scoop should speed the cars up a little, probably not really where they want to go though. I would much rather see bodies much closer to stock appearing myself, they are more Funny Car than Stock Car now.
