Id have to say gears or more compression as well. I recently went from the stroker norm of flat top zero deck slugs to the off the shelf wiseco 8cc domed and it made a world of difference in only the pistons were changed, rebalance.
I did put a post up that if you changed any or all would change the torque.. but advancing the cam is one of the least costly ones
