SEM is a great product but it is a paint and NOT a dye. It's a flexible coating like it says right on the can. I've used it, and it works well but it is a paint and it can wear and scratch like any other paint. IMO using that on the inside of your new mustang would be the biggest mistake you could ever make on that car. If you want a black interior, you would be MUCH MUCH MUCH better off buying the black colored interior parts. There are no dyes that "soak" into the plastic or vinyl like you(and everyone else it seems) are thinking.

First off anything will flake off or sit on top paint ot dye,if not preped properly before.
Paint does not melt into primer it bonds with it same gopes for Dye.
Once the vinyl is cleaned and sprayed with a aheasion promoter{like bull dog} the dye will realy bond.
{ie} the adheasion promoter will bond to the properly prep vinyl and the dye will now bond.
This can also be done with the hard Plasitcs as well but the bond will not be as strong.Since the Dupont dyes are realy made for Vinyl.
SEM is ok for small jobs but if doing a whole roof ect get Dupont from the local dupont paint jobber. It can also me mixed to the right color/shade
