Yes, "Race Hemi Orange" is the correct color for that year Hemi. It gets confusing because the first time that Race Hemi Orange was used was in 1962 on the 413 Max Wedge engines, then continued on 1963, and 1964 426 Max Wedges. So, by all rights it should really be called "Max Wedge Orange".

In mid 1964 when the cross ram Race Hemis came out, they were also painted this same color. This color was used on Street Hemis from 1966-1968, (as well as 1968 Race Hemis, and on the 67 R/0 W/0 Hemis) it was also possibly used on Street Hemis into very early 1969.

"Street Hemi Orange" was first used in 1969 on Hemi engines continuing through 1971 and was also used on most other high performance 383, 440, and 340 Mopar engines for the next couple years.

Like any paint, there were slight variations over the years, batch to batch, plant to plant, etc. but there were really only two distinct shades of orange by design. Today these are generally referred to as "Race Hemi Orange" (a paler more pumpkin colored orange) and "Street Hemi Orange" (a much redder colored orange).
