Any worn parts in the front end will wear the inside off the tires on old Mopars. Start checking the lower ball joints first.
Put a jack under the lower control arm, near the tire, and lift the tire off the ground a couple inches. With a pry bar under the tire, lift up and drop down the tire. Any sloppy movement means worn lower ball joints, you can watch them separate! Then hold up on the pry bar that is under the tire, and pull and push the top of the tire. Inward or outward movement means worn upper ball joints, you should be able to see if it moves. With the tire off the ground, grab the front edge and the rear edge, and try to move the tire side to side. Loose movement means worn tie rods, again, you should be able to see the movement. Check each side the same way.

I'm betting you have at least worn lower ball joints, and maybe a lot more worn parts. Tires like new on the outside edge and cords showing on the inside is substantial wear, or very badly shifted belts in the tires. Its probably a good thing you picked up a nail. Gene
