I have the same cam in a 318 stroker 390 cubes and it is still pretty mild. Power brakes work fine. My engine does have a 4.00" stroke crank and the stock stroke 383 is a 3.38?? I don't know if that will make a big difference or not but I think it is a factor even though we have the same size engine. For the street I think this cam is pretty close to perfect and I still have a nice rumble at idle. I am also using 1.6 rockers so my lift is up around .565

Maybe some of the engine building guru's can shed some light on the effect of stroke on cam size???? TBF
