If I was buying all new parts I'd use a Mopar M1 4500 intake with a dual pattern Holley 750 DP carb.

Andy, I own a few of your books and hesitate to question anything you reccomend, but a 750 cfm carb on a 470 cube mill with aftermarket heads? Seems pretty conservative. Especially with the M1 single plane intake; it would seem that in order to make the single plane pay off, we would clearly need to take advantage of some upper end HP? Won't 470 cubes outrun the 750 by the time the M1 gets into its wheelhouse??? Mathmatically, at 85% V.E., a 470 needs 750cfm at 6500. This seems to perhaps support your choice, but I'd hate to limit the motor at the entry point like that, knowing that an 850 will run great and give you more ability to breath and make HP up top. (???)
