I'm looking to improve the power and fuel mileage on my 2012 Ram 6.7 Cummins, manual trans. What tuners would you guys recommend?

with emissions off or on? Also i can tell you from first had experience that you better save up for a clutch. our stock clutch is only good for stock power. I could slip mine with my smarty JR on the 40 hp setting not even trying.

There's a reason all the manual trans equipped trucks are derated over the autos from the factory. Read his reply again and let it soak it

my personal opinion is.... delete it all, or leave it the F alone! I also found "back in the day" that H&S seemed to have the delete and tune done very well, and had great customer support. IF you have emission testing..... your probably pretty much screwed. I work on these things daily and to be honest, I wouldn't own a 07-12 6.7 equipped truck. The 13-14 with def are actually starting to impress me again.

maybe I should send you a pm too!

OK J body what am i so posed to let sink in? I have owned 4 6.7 cummins trucks and never had a problem with any of them. yes stock v stock the newer trucks are pretty nice. but i will stick with my 2011 for now.what don't you like about the 2007-2012 6.7 cummins trucks?

Trucks fine, engines fine, trans is great..... it's just the emission system that sucks it down the drain for me. For me, it's a cash cow. My workload has more than doubled with egr, egr cooler, sooted turbos, etc..etc..etc.. Add crap mpg to that equation and it's "no thank you".

btw the reason the stick trucks are derated is that there is NO power management. That was a "safe" level is which the rest of the powertrain could live. With the auto trucks programming can make/prevent shifts allow torque converter lock up etc.... basically disallowing the user from doing stupid stuff. With a stick you can hook up your 5th wheel and attempt to climb a steep grade in 6th gear, and the programming can't do a thing about it but take some power from the engine, but not enough to where it won't tear the center out of the clutch. We've seen trucks with less than a 1000 miles take the clutch out from driving style.

What I've seen with the 13-14 DEF trucks..... WAAAAAYYYYY longer oil change interval. They can do this because they are hardly using the EGR valve any more

4x4 2500.... I've seen several knocking down 18-22 mpg running empty.... that's what I'd expect with a computer controlled new diesel.

the new trucks seem better at "daily driver" duty. Lets face it....a lot of people cant drop 60K on a truck just to let it sit at home until they need to tow. In my experience the 7-12 trucks were waayyy unhappy doing this duty. It would often cause regen so often you'd have to change oil in 3500 miles. That gets costly. Oil change minder is computer generated by fuel load in the crankcase oil which is a byproduct of the regen process.
