Ron, I had the same problem with Duplicolor not holding up on my orig valve covers after about a year so made sure I put a couple of primer coats on my new covers before spraying them. Paint seems to be holding up well on them after a year's time, except for a couple of spots where I tried to clean up some spilled oil with rubbing alcohol & that really dulled a small area. Haven't been able to find Plastikote locally, so went with the Duplicolor.
