Since it's a jobber part, it's most likely the problem.

There was a jobber camshaft position sensor in our '04 Neon when we bought it, and same as yours: it worked great for a year or so, and then the code showed up. I put a Mopar one in and haven't had a problem since.

I'd advise to go back to a Mopar part. There just is no room for aftermarket sloppy calibration when it comes to todays' fine-tuned computers.

When the OEM ones give issues just clean them with brake cleaner and they last a fairly long time.

The idle in my '01 Ram started to fluctuate a little, I cleaned it, and it's been good for over 200,000 miles.
