I have a small amount...maybe .010 ..but the pin
isnt tight in there

well I am a little surprised that I have that much .

It is way better to have movement on wrist pins cold than it is to not have any movement cold I've seen duoble Tru Arcs kicked out of the retaining grooves due to to little end clearances on them It ruined the cylinder it happen to The engine asembler, a freind of mine, didn't know to check for end play on every pin back then As far as wire reatiners on Mahle brand piston I have no personel experiences with them, sorry The old Hemi and (I think) early Mopar V8 motors all used round 3/4 circumference wire retainers back when They had lots of end play on some of them also Contact Mahle tech. and ask them the minimums and maximum end play before telling them how much yours have

thanks cab I will call them tomorrow .. and maybe at running temp some of the clearance will be taken up . here is a pic of the piston .
