John_Kunkel Too Many Posts Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 25,914 Rio Linda, CA	There are plastic shear "rivets" that allow the steering wheel shaft to collapse in the event of a collision, the rivets have sheared off. Some popular fixes involve replacing the rivets with hardware store plastic screws or bonding the upper/lower shafts together. The factory offered a kit to bond the shafts together but any that might be left will have the adhesive dried up by now. 8206143-Shaftkit.jpg (40 downloads)
