I know the wiring is good as I can hook up another after market tach that I have it works/reads fine. The problem points to the tach...but I just can't believe shorting out the lead wire would fry it like that...


Unfortunately, it has to be the tach and it was probably a coincidence. The only way I could see that happening would be from a bad design and I think they have they have tach designs pretty well figured out by now.
