if you are asking "does it open from the front or rear"
the front goes up, unless someone made it so it won't open.

there should be a lever under the dash that you push forward to open it, but it all might be rusted up and non working..

I just oil everything up and work it back and forth till it frees up



Thanks, I found the lever, it was hidden by the gauges mounted under the dash. It's frozen so I need to do your oil trick
