HURST shifted cars have a "REVERSE" light on the dash, INLAND cars DO NOT. So, an original dash would tell the "truth". Those with Dec. '67 & Jan. '68 cars should share what they find.

Really is this true? Can this be verified? My understandig is the dash reverse light came out in 69. That would make if easy. B-body is what I am loking at.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. I'm sure I knew that at one time, since I was so sure the car originally came with an Inland.

The Inland had a reverse lockout mechanism, whereas the Hurst only had a spring to keep you out of reverse. The light was to warn you if you put it in the wrong gear.

Double checked mine. Original dash with no hole for reverse light. Bummer. Looks like I'll be getting a Brewer's conversion shifter after all.

Dec. 20, 1967, C20, on fender tag.
