Yes, it looks like it was wrecked at one time and someone put the Dodge grille in it.

I would love to put a Chrysler engine and trans in it, but I have a friend that is giving me a low mileage 302 and C4 trans.

I figured I could use the saved money to do something else on the truck. I am still early in the planing stages as the truck runs fine with the original engine.

I am curious to see what needed to be done to install the Ford drivetrain.

lets look at this a different way.
say you had a 1963 corvette or a 70 barracuda.
and someone gave you a free ford engine or a free 4 cyl Toyota drive train, would it make any sense to use that drive train just because it was free
no it would ruin a good car. in my opinion....

I would rather you sell that truck to some one that will put a mopar in it and find yourself a ford to use that drive train in.

I know it's your truck and you can do whatever you want to it but just think how much cooler it would be if you kept it all mopar.

ford people could care less about a mopar
and mopar people won't like it because its ford powered,
Just sayin'

Ron,

We share the same view here. I think the point of building a Mopar rod is to be different and putting a belly button drivetrain in it defeats the purpose.

I am a rodder and use lots of different things like a Ford differential or a GM alternator, etc. The only thing I am a purist
about is a Chrysler engine.

Rodding is a freedom no rules kinda thing and someone is free to build as they choose but why be another sheep in the herd?? Like LS engine hype in a Mopar. I hate to inform them but the 5.7 Hemi is a good engine with lots of power potential.

If the Frames are similar to the '39 to '47 trucks and a person wants keep the straight axle, an LA Chrysler is a drop in!!
