I used the BD kit in my '02. It does make the shift throw shorter, it gives less mechanical advantage and therefore takes more effort to move the lever. I used the add-on cup holder (to the console) and the raised shift knob cleared better. A word of warning, be very carefull with the factory sleeves that go around the shift tower bolts. They look like .22 long rifle brass. I dropped one of them, I could never find it even after draining the transmission and removing both PTO plates. I decided, since it was brass, it would be ground up in the gears without damage to anything. I refilled the trans with Red Line syntheic, drove it 20,000 miles and never gave it another thought. The shift tower never loosened as I thought it might either. Would I spend the money to do it again? Probably not, you are never going to speed-shift a NV5600 and I have better uses for $200.00
