What's the reasoning that the 440 trucks had a passenger side water pump housing?

I bought a radiator from Champion radiators which isn't going to work b/c they don't have one that has the inlet/outlet on both the passenger side that'll work and/or fit.

Im thinking that if I change water pump housings (I was going to change out the timing belt anyhow) and switch it over to the drivers side, I'll be able to get a champion aluminum radiator that'll fit/work.

Would there be a fitment issue with this? The truck is a 74 Ramcharger SE, with a 440 & Factory A/C if that matters.
