Working on the wife's 2006 liberty. Auto tranny. The factory spec for the pan bolts is 14.5lbs or 174 inch pounds. BUT the factory didn't use a gasket, just RTV/sealer of some sort. Once the sealer is squeezed out there is really no more "squish" and torque values rise very quickly with bolt rotation.
I'm using an ATP fiber gasket (I like their gaskets), but think that much less torque is appropriate. I'm thinking more like 75-100 inch pounds....
Thoughts? Advice?
