Hello Everyone,
I have a 1967 Satellite with a 318, auto, etc. Anyway I have a 440 that I plan to swap in. What problems will I encounter IF I decide not to go with larger torsion bars?
Also, for the rear springs, what is the difference betweeb the HD springs and the SS springs? I would like to raise the rear slighty for that raked look.

Mike

the 318 bars will be a softer suspension, more compliant. Front end will have more vertical movement than a stiffer set up. You run a slightly higher risk of bar failure (basically crack in half, total loss of suspension on one side--very rare, very slight risk, but it does happen, and these bars ain't gettin any younger)
You'll have slightly more room for exhaust!!!

The SS springs are stiffer than the HD, and will raise the car more, and will most likely result in an uneven rear end height--a lot of people hate them for that. There are springs available that will raise the rear more than stock yet are not as 'beefy' as SS.
