There is much disagreement on whether or not to run the radiator cooler in series with the external cooler, a lot depends on your local weather conditions; I would run it through the radiator, specially if it gets really cold in the winter.

Running large hoses doesn't make a lot of sense since the 1/8" NPT fittings at the trans limit the flow anyhow. #6 hose is all you'll need.
