OK...I've gotta chime in on this one. I personally own a 2007 Ram 1500. I bought it new. Early last year the original battery failed. It happened very suddenly. The truck was running perfectly, we visited a jobsite, got ready to leave and it would not start. Not even a click on the starter. We hooked up jumper cables and got it started. The truck ran down the road about 200 yards. It started acting like the transmission was stuck between gears. It finally quit pulling altogether and the check engine light came on, then the engine died, no start. We checked the battery, it wasn't shorted, just dead. We put a new battery on it and it ran perfectly. That was 20,000 miles ago. Don't ask me why, or what, because I don't know much about them, but that truck has to have a good battery on it or it will not run.
