I had a nice 70 340 4spd Challenger with very few options... and it weighed 3500lbs. Hard to see where the extra 400lbs comes from... probably from everything else that the bigger motor requires. 4 spd weighs more than 3 spd. the 340 probably had an 8.75, which weighs more than the 7.25, probably also had sway bars, bigger brakes maybe? PS? PB? under coating? all those things add weight! Photobucket sucks
