I need a new heater core for the Imperial. It's a twin core unit similar to this:



The radiator shop I use is a great place that has been around since the 40s. They usually find anything I need. This time around they've drawn a blank. There are apparently no 1972 Imperial heater cores to be had.
They tried ordering similar size cores that could be modified to fit my car but there are none available in the correct width.

The cores measure 8-3/4 x 6-3/8 x 1-1/2. Custom cores could be made but I'd be facing $400 or more.

Do you guys have any idea where I could find heater cores?

We are brothers and sisters doing time on the planet for better or worse. I'll take the better, if you don't mind.
