My latest Swepty project....On my latest junk yard excursion, I snagged a fiberglass shifter hump out of a 1980 Dodge truck for $15. My truck was originally 3 on the tree, and a previous owner had cut a hole in the cover / floor and installed an aftermarket shifter. To get the aftermarket boot to cover the hole, it had to be bent in almost a 90* angle = this made the mobility of the boot very stiff, and would prematurely tear. So I took the junk yard hump, and trimmed , trimmed, trimmed, and trimmed a little more , until I got a close fit to my Sweptline transmission floor pan...fabbed up a few mounting brackets, and viola!! NOW... the last step is to replace the boot!! I think an A body boot will work , but I am not 100% sure. would anyone here know if this is the case, or does anyone have a source for a replacement boot for a late 70s early 80s Dodge truck? Thanks guys!!
