The rear of the cowl scoop needs to be right up near the windshield to work. Just enough room to slip your hand b/t the scoop and the windshield is what you need. The ones commonly seen that are 4 or 5 inches away from the windshield don't work from what I've seen.

My Cuda has the cowl nice and close, but the Duster has the cowl probably at least 5" away...Now you would think that is way too much, but we finally sealed the carb to the scoop last year...We went from 129mph to 134mph...Pulled the plate off the car, and it slowed right back down....
