a cautionary tale- a friend had a stock drum blow, evaporated the case (of course), broke the carbon fiber shield, and then came through the floor to get him. he didn't race for a few years after that. regardless of whether you use a blanket or a shield (i prefer a blanket), get a billet drum in it. i installed my blanket with the trans in situ, and i do extended street sorties in 100 + degree weather- no issues whatsoever.
