But.... with the later transmission, did you ever have to R & R the clutch after it was assembled? I put a later 4 speed in my 65 Polara years ago, which worked fine until I had to change the clutch. Seems that slip yoke tail is enough longer so I had to either lift the engine forward ~ 4" or remove the rear torsion bar support to get the input shaft out of the bellhousing. So the next time and next 65 Polara I used the correct trunnion output trans and all is so much easier.
