I have the seal and once I get the front band adjusted (as explained in another thread), I am going to replace the output shaft seal that is in the housing extension. Replacing it I can do, but I am trying to determine why this seal needs replaced.
This is the third time that I have replaced this seal in 10-12 years. I don't drive the car allot each year and it just seems that I am replacing this seal way to often.
The first seal was the standard length seal and I also replaced the bushing. The second one is the one with the rubber boot. The one that I currently have is the standard seal again. The fluid is leaking out of the output shaft and going down the drive shaft and leaking down the differential assembly. I have splatter tranny fluid under my car from flinging off of the drive shaft.
Besides replacing the seal again, what else am I missing? Too much fluid? Input shaft OD damaged (it is nice and smooth but I will check it again), to much pressure in the tranny?
I don't know, I am just throwing out weird ideas.

Thanks again.
